Fidelity: how a topic passes
A topic passes when its migrated page says and shows what its published DITA page says and shows, in every build. Each difference is reported with the check that found it.
MANIFEST builds the source twice for every audience: once with DITA-OT 4.4 HTML5, and once by converting to MyST and building with Sphinx. It then compares the two pages.
- Text: the same words in the same order.
- Structure: the same number of headings, tables, table rows, list items, code blocks and images.
- IDs: every ID in the source is still an anchor, in the form DITA-OT publishes.
- Links: no broken links, the same navigation, and every old URL still resolves.
The comparison runs once per build: unfiltered, and once for each DITAVAL file. A topic that only one audience sees is only checked in that audience's build.
