Migrate your own DITA

Upload a .zip of DITA and get back MyST Markdown for Sphinx, with a report that names every difference from your published DITA. No sign-in is needed.

A .zip of up to 10 MB with your root map, its topics, key maps, DITAVAL files and images, in the folders they use. Topics must use the OASIS DITA DTDs; files that declare entities are refused.

  1. In the MANIFEST console, select Migrate your DITA.
  2. Choose your .zip and, if it holds more than one map, type the root map's path inside it.
  3. Select Migrate.

The run page shows each stage as it runs: unpack, inventory, convert, restore, check, links and report.

  4. When the run finishes, select Download docs as code (.zip).

The download holds the Sphinx project in myst, the report, the redirects for old URLs, and a README that lists every topic that isn't clean and why.

Topics that pass every check are ready to merge. A topic that failed a check, or needs a writer, is still in the download; the report shows exactly what differs, so nothing is lost without you knowing.
